For the most part I am very good at it.
Today though in a meeting about the structure of the team they dropped the possibility of a new band six slot in our team, and I am the most senior band five.
This job might not even happen, and even if it does I have no guarantee of getting it.
But by god, I do want it.
I don't think of myself as ambitious, and I already go to too many meetings, and this will mean more, but...it sure will help my eventual pension.
Which like Schrödinger cat is both far away, and yet also closer than ever.
None of this is helping me sleep tonight.
