Little known fact: lightsabers were originally designed by the Jedi as a source of illumination. They also hung them from trees in the forest as 'bug zappers.'
 
I bet the jedi's lighsabres don't have a battery saving five minute auto shutdown feature.

You'll get them one day, once you have a job of your own your parents cant really stop you buying stuff, proving you pay them board, or better still have a place of your own.
 
I can only hope. Maybe I'll just justify the expense by buying it for my 1 year old son, instead. Ha! Then what's his mother gonna do about it!?
