IE8 PROBLEMO

I don't use Internet Explorer for much, but I do use it. I can't get any websites to open in IE8 today, and was wondering if anyone else is having a similar problem. Yesterday the hamsters in my computer automatically downloaded a security update (cumulative security update for IE8 Vista KB972260), this update wasn't installed until I shut down my computer last night so I didn't notice any problems til I fired it up today and noticed that every time I try to open a site with IE8 I get the message: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".

WHAT SHOULD I DO? :rwmad:
 
Step 1: Drive to Washington, with an ample supply of water, beef jerky, and adult diapers so you don't need to stop

Step 4: Drive home
 
I thought I had also complained about SP2 taking 14hrs to download in this here thread! I guess my shock and dismay made me think I'd clicked reply. OMG.
 
For some reason, firefox takes FOREVER to launch on my home PC. Srsly, it takes like 60 seconds from the time I click the icon to actually open.
 
Can you uninstall the update?

If I had the power to change the title of this thread I'd change it to: CASSIE'S MICROSOFT MIRACLE, or SOMETHING!

So, srsly, I'm just going to talk to myself here. Microsoft's website states that on a 56k modem sp2 should take 14hrs and 10 minutes. WELL, it has only been a little over an hour and the sp2 download is over halfway complete PLUS my computer is running faster than ever. Usually when I dl something everything else slows to a crawl BUT NOT THIS TIME. MIRACLE? Has the spirit of Bill Gates entered my computer and JUICED IT UP? I DON'T KNOW.

Yeah, who needs diapers? I can make it to Washington with a pant load.
