It is cold and raining here. Just realized I don't have to get out and do anything today. The last gift and a few things I need to pick up from the grocery store can wait until Sunday - when everything will be open again - as my dinner with those people isn't until Sunday. I'm all set for the get together tomorrow except I need to wrap a few gifts and fill the car up with gas.

I can snuggle under the blankets and be warm and dry and comfortable!

Merry Christmas Eve to you!!

Okay - maybe I'll go out to the movies later but I don't have to!!
 
This has been the best Christmas I've had in a very long time. I absolutely love my future son-in-law and my future-step-granddaughters. My daughter is healthy and happy. My little family is expanding again and there is more love and laughter in our houses than there has been in awhile. To top it off, I didn't do any cooking or cleaning this year and I got a bunch of presents. I could get used to this.
 
Let's see - $50 in movie money; $25 gift certificate to Half Priced Books; a $10 gift certificate to Walmart; a $15 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble; a $25 gift certificate to Bed, Bath & Beyond; 6 new Christmas ornaments; three puzzles and a brain boggler; a book on Texas day trips to weird places; a huge bag of gingerbread mix from Soup 'n Salad; a walking tour video to watch while I walk on the treadmill; a plaque with a pithy saying to hang up in my office; a beautiful ruana (shawl); a turtle pendant; a turtle necklace and earrings; a large ceramic turtle for my front flower beds; and a journal to write about my travels in the new year.

I bought myself an expensive treadmill too. I'm also going to give myself the Pirate expansion on UO and buy a slot for a 7th character. So, I'll have a stealther/mage/scribe, a tamer/mage, a fencer/paladin, two craftsmen - tailor, tinker, carpenter, fletcher, lumberjack, miner, blacksmith, etc.; a mystic/mage/bladeweaving gargoyle; and with the new character, I think I'll make him an archer/swordsman pirate. Arrgh. Yes. I like playing UO.

What was under your tree?
 
I got an RC flying helicopter, a Levitron (antigrav perpetual motion magnetic top thingie), a couple of Knex sets (ball machine, Blizzard Coaster) to supplement the Ball Machine I'm designing and constructing, a Tilley Endurables wide brimmed hat (my very first hat lol), warm wool socks, a bottle of Owen Roe Abbot's Table (yum), a niceRL Polo sweater shirt combo, and the entire family spent the night, including the grandchild.

The dog was at the kennel unfortunately because he's too neurotic when the house is full. Great holiday.
 
Well, I did make the deviled eggs and bought at the store the Parker House rolls ready to put in the oven.
