I fucking saved a life today! FIRST ONE!!!1

The fucker was blue all over, and none was helping-they were jst gunna let him die.
And after CPR he started to stop turning blue...coz teh blue-ness was creeping up his arms.
Oh and no resus mask, which means ima bad arse.
It was gross, but he lived...so uno, that's the point

Kthnx ;)

Anyone else do this shit often?

Was it a drowning? Choking? Heart attack?

I was a lifeguard for a couple summers college & post-college. Saved one life once at the very beginning of it: a dude whom I bet couldn't do two underwater laps in a pool. He did that oxygen-saturating hyperventilation for about half a minute before starting (which I later learned is exactly what did him in), got about 3/4 of the way through it and then just sank to the bottom of the deep end. Retrieving him was easy enough but reviving him took forever --I really didn't think he was gonna make it. Thankfully I wasn't the only guard there --I was exhausted after about two minutes of working on him and another one took over. We did it in shifts. After about seven-eight minutes of this he finally came to...and the lunkhead was swimming again the very next day.

They really do turn blue --like a dull, pale lavender. I hate that fucking color now.

I never saved a life or took one, but I know the prospect of trying to save someone who was shot freaked me out a bit more than getting shot myself when I was in the service...

Gun wound would be freaky! Little Pickle! :S:

With ur drowner Nixon, did some water spew out? Did u hear it coming...like a gurgle?
Ive been told u can hear it, which is a nice warning :P

It was an OD Archibald, he was beyond 'lavender' when we go there, moar a dark purple/blue; and his arms were the same dark colour up to his elbows-aktually, he was really fucking lucky he didn't get brain damage.

The ambo's took forever, 25 minutes-so it was a bit freaky not knowing if he was too far gone.
We didn't have oxygen-just CPR, but he was ok after they got there with the drugs and oxygen.

He was found by a colleague the day b4, in the same condition; so if he does it again on the weekend, it will be up to passers-by to help-if they will; yesterday they were taking pix on their mobile's.

Anyways, this shit happens everyday where I work, I just happened to avoid it until nao; so next week I'll do my advanced resus so I can use oxygen and shit.

Phone counseling count? Ive talked people outta suicide. If they changed their minds again some time later and did kill themselves, I wouldnt know. Some probably werent serious, and others wouldve been doing the world a favor if they did.

Yeah, but it took so goddamned long that by the time I did hear it, I was way more relieved than disgusted. And he at least hadn't eaten beforehand so there wasn't much in the way of vomitus --plenty of water, though. He told me later that he couldn't get the taste of chlorine out of his mouth for a month.
