Iron Man Cast Change

Gonad

DON'T FUCK WITH MY TITLE BITCH
Terrance Howard will be replaced by Don Cheadle.

This is annoying, since Terrance Howard is super-attractive and Don Cheadle is not. But not a complete loss, given that Don Cheadle is a fine actor whom I have enjoyed for years. But still, it is like replacing Catherine Zeta-Jones with Judi Dench. Come'on! Did Robert Downey Jr. insist that he be the only attractive male in the franchise?

This could be interesting. Cheadle is a more headstrong actor and I think can bring the comedic part better than the incredibly dry Howard.

You need to remember that they're trying to be honest to the Comic. Rhodes is closer in body type and character style to Cheadle than Howard was. Especially once he dons the War Machine suit.

I have no idea who Cheadle is and I had no idea who Howard was before Iron Man, so I don't care. I doubt they're trying to be "honest with the comic" though, otherwise they would surely have cast this guy in the first place.

Well, Jon Favreau is directing it again, so I don't give a flying hoot.

You could replace the entire cast for all I care so long as Mr Favreau went on directing.

I've just finished watching Iron Man. I've not ever read the comic and knew nothing about the character so I had no expectations other than what the movie trailers promised. Very satisfying movie. Great cast.

Why does everybody like Iron Man? It was fucking awful, probably the second worst film I saw in theatres this year. The first was Stop Loss, which was even worse. MTV does the Iraq War! I walked out of that one.

I don't know why everyone else liked it. I liked it because as far fetched as it may appear to be in some respects, it was also very timely.

It would be awesome if we could outfit each of our soldiers in armor such as Iron Man wore. In the same vein, the movie showed what can happen to a single person with that much personal power. One doesn't have to think too much on what the world would be like if we did have an army with that kind of armour and weaponry in their arsenal. Still, wouldn't you love to be able to put on a suit of clothes and fly across the planet? I would and I don't like heights.

I liked that this weapons manufacturer found out the hard way - and in his case, an appropriate way - that his weapons don't wind up in the hands of just the "good guys."

I liked that the hero is brilliant but doesn't know what his social security number is.

I liked that Robert Downey Jr. looked okay. He has had an extra rough life - all of it his own fault but it doesn't change the fact that he made a bad choice one time when he was young and it led him on that hard road he has had a hard time getting off.

I liked that there were some real laughs in there - where I was laughing with and not at. The movie just didn't take itself so seriously that it was stupid instead of fun.

I like Jeff Bridges and Gwyneth Paltrow too.

I didn't analyze the movie - just watched it. When I analyze things, I get paid. That is how it works.
