Is there an Afterlife?

you could make that argument using biology, but what about quantum physics?

What scares people the most about this question is that if there isn't, then they, as a being, a soul, whatever, ceases to exist. The thought of not being aware of anything anymore can be very frightening, which is why people are afraid of dying.

Uhhhhhh if there's no afterlife then please explian to the how Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey works.

PROOF.

PROOF RIGHT THERE.

I voted no, but hoped for the best.

It'd be nice to continue after this life, but if we did I'd rather it be back here again than in some magical fuzzy heaveny place (or hell). What makes living a long period of time interesting is to see how the world changes and develops, but if the afterlife was somewhere else then you'd miss out on all that. I don't want to be a consciousness floating on a bed of noncoporealism, that's not living.

I just don't get how people can want to believe in The Force and the power of The Ring so desperately, but then turn around and think it's crazy to believe in any kind of ethereal existence around us.

I know there's something else to life that is mostly unseen. My failing is not incorporating that knowledge into my daily life more.

My Imam assured me there is an afterlife, just before he strapped this explosive vest to my chest!

I don't think anyone here believes in the Force of the power of the Ring. Maybe in the Badlands...

We will turn to dust. The difference is being scared or not scared about that.

If you grab every moment of your life knowing that dust awaits, then that is true living.

If you are scared everyday of breaking rules due to some final judgement - then you are mortgaging your life to a future that doesn't exist.

What if you're scared by an faultyly wired brain?
