It has been five years since the Terri Schiavo event. I wonder if people still feel the same way now as they did then. I do.

I remember being appalled at the media for creating a circus outside a fucking hospice. I remember being appalled at the wackos trying to send their kids into the hospice with water. I felt sad for her parents, but thought they should let her go. I was embarrassed by some people in our government for the dumb ass shit they said, and for sticking their noses into a private family matter.

Do you suppose she'd still be in a persitent vegitative state if she were still plugged in?

Yes.

Michael Schiavo: He'd obviously moved on (what, a girlfriend and a kid, right?) so his claims that Terri had wanted to die in that situation were clearly suspect and motivated by his self interest. That said, in Terri's situation I would want to die.

Terri's parents: I wouldn't have taken their position, but I acknowledge their right to it. Really sucks for them.

The ideal situation for everybody involved (the parents and Michael, Terri was dead in all meaningful senses of the word) would've been for Michael to just get a divorce (can you divorce a vegetable?) and to have moved on with his new life. The parents could keep their empty shell as a last bit of solace, so long as they wanted to pay the medical bills. Everybody's happy.

Has anyone prepared a living will so that should you wind up in the same situation as Terry Schiavo, your family won't be left to make the decision based on what they think you would want?

All life is sacred! No matter how useless. If they had let her live she probably would have recovered and gone on to solve the nature of the universe.

She was pondering the universe all that time she was in a coma. That is what one does when in a coma. And, she did figure it all out. When she discovered that contrary to popular belief the answer is not 42, they killed her.

I wonder if Teri's parents still believe Michael was the one who put her into her vegetative state to begin with. Remember their claim? When their assertion was disproven, I don't believe they ever apologized to him for their repeated on-the-air claims.

It was an ugly incident where everyone showed how unattractive humans can be.

I remember Senator Bill Frist giving a medical opinion about her condition based on no more information than viewing a heavily edited videotape. I found that disgusting.

Now that your retarded invasion is over, will you be going dormant again?

I don't know. Jack seems to have an idea he's a commie guy, and the join date is about right.

Hey Bootsie, who are you really?
