It is Saturday Night

There are a ton of movies at the theater I want to see and I've got a ton of free movie money left. I want to go. Nobody wants to go with me. Fine. I'll go by myself. I'll brave the scary dark streets and make my way past the wild kids hanging out in front of the mall late Saturday nights. Just because teenagers scare the beejezzus out of me does not mean I should stay shut up in my home. I will overcome my fear because, dag nabbit, I need to see the Transformers, or 1408, or Harry Potter.

I kind of want to see Transformers. People say they will go with me at another time to see 1408 and HP. Transformers is getting better ratings than the other two also.

I want to see that too. I should just move into the theater for the next week or so and just watch all the movies.

Okay - I'm getting ready and I'm going. Stop for a late dinner and pick up some supplies for the house (TP) then HP5 at midnight it is. Maybe the screaming kiddies and teens will be at home, in bed or watching TV or online or something. I don't understand why someone would pay that much to sit in a movie and make lots of noise, run up and down the stairs and otherwise act uncivilized. I mean, one can act a fool so many other places for free.

I don't want to see Transformers so much.

I was a huge fan of the show when I was a kid.

Bumblebee is a VW Bug. That's why his name is such.

I wouldn't mind seeing the New Die Hard, but can likely wait.

What I'm really waiting for is the Simpsons's Movie.

Got to the theater and all the moms and dads with the little kids in tow were lined up out the door to see the midnight showing of HP5. 1408 was already 30 minutes into the movie. Transformers it was then. What to say about that: The CGI was actually pretty good. The storylines involving the military, the upper echelon of government and signal analysis were promising. The teenage crush storyline had its amusing and even thrilling moments but brought the movie down in excitement potential. The cube wasn't so much of a spark as a really poorly executed plot device. From the trailers, I was expecting more "War of the Worlds" but got fighting toys that didn't vary enough to know which ones were which and not enough story development about either faction. However, good editing to tighten up the story would fix many of the problems with this movie. I give it a B.

Thats normally what happens when it's a Stephen King Book turned movie..

It's good and then here comes the ending..
Ha - that is a John Carpenter film - starts off really good then turns into a monster eats all stupid kind of thing. The French are good at making a fine film that just ends abruptly too.

Again sounds like a Stephen King film..

Lets not forget that at the end of "it" It was a big spider that was killed by an inhaler.. (I might have to try that)

In Dream catcher - they had Shit demons from outer space.

And then in The Stand, the Hand of the old black woman knocked out Las Vegas and all the evil folks..

I like Stephen king movies, I should just shut them off before the movie ends..

The preview of the Simpson movie looked pretty funny.

Another trend I've noticed is the big strong guy with the child/children movies. The newest one coming up stars The Rock as the toughest/roughest football player gaining custody of his little girl. It does look very funny and I do like the Rock so I'll mark it down to wait for on video.

As much as I enjoy a good distraction, some thrills and chills with some giggles, I need some story with meat. I need some new books. Now that I'm done with school, I think I can go back to reading for enjoyment. Yahoo.

This is not a recently developed trend. Remember that movie where Hulk Hogan was the nanny?

No, it is not a new trend but it seems like certain types of male leads - all brawn and not much acting ability - wind up doing these types of films. I did like Riddick as the Pacifier though.
