I've had the first season of BSG on my hardrive for a over a month...

and I still haven't been able to watch it yet. This is a sad sorry state of affairs, because I've still gotta watch to be a cool frood who knows where his towel is in the MF. Kinda.
 
Have you seen the miniseries? You have to see the miniseries first!
 
Once you see the first episode after the miniseries (33) you will be assimilated.
 
The first season is the most consistently excellent.
 
It also has a lot more stand alone episodes than later seasons, so they're probably more rewatchable. I'm looking forward to getting season 3 on DVD, but I'm not sure how much I'll actually want to watch again.
 
Miniseries first?

It's the movie-like uber episode that sets it all up. You won't be lost without it, but it's well worth watching.
 
I stopped watching somewhere in season 2. It is a brilliant show and I enjoyed it immensely when I powered through it to the point I stopped but I did lose interest mid Season 2. I've always meant to pick it back up and go through it again but I never get round to it. Time to watch TV is a premium these days so I pick and choose where as before I used to just enjoy going on series binges.


That said, another show I stopped watching inexplicably was Prison Break somewhere at the start of Season 2 during it's original run. I have powered through Seasons 2 and 3 in the past two weeks and It's fucking brilliant. Season 3 is the best season yet and it's just the best show on television as far as I'm concerned. The thread I just made attests to that fact. I can't wait for Season 4 to start.

You'll have plenty of time to catch up with BSG if you ever want to, since the final episodes aren't being shown until next year.
 
I liked what I saw but I never fell in love with the show like so many others. But I will give it a another shot
