In preparation for the release of the new Bond film I've just finished watching ALL of the James Bond movies.
...and I mean, ALL.
I would like to give the title of "best Bond" to Sean Connery AND Daniel Craig.
Yes, it's a tie.
First Runner-up goes to George Lazenby.
These men portray James Bond in the least cartoonish way possible. Daniel Craig probably being the least cartoonish of the bunch. His Bond is grittier and has FAR more depth than most of the other Bonds. Sean Connery wins the title because his Bond is whimsical without being obvious. He plays a wonderful playboy/gentleman spy.
I'd have to give the title of "worst Bond" to Roger Moore.
Now, I know it's not entirely his fault. The series of Bonds he played in were terrifically bad. The Man With The Golden Gun has to be one of the most laughable movies of all time.
Pierce Brosnan almost took that title, but his acting was just a tad better than Moore. Brosnan is also a victim of bad bond plots, but his are victims of Hollywood being Hollywood.
Anyway, my list for top Bonds goes like this.
1. Sean Connery/Daniel Craig
2. George Lazenby
3. David Niven
4. Timothy Dalton
5. Pierce Brosnan
6. Roger Moore
