Wherever they go, death and destruction seems to follow. However, in Gandalf's case this is because he's arriving to warn of the impending doom. In Jessica's case it's because SHE MURDERS THEM HERSELF AND FRAMES SOMEONE ELSE THE BITCH.

All anyone had to do to get away with murder in that town (or any crime for that matter) was kill Jessica Fletcher, and then no one would be able to solve the crime. I mean, after all, if a cop can't figure it out, but an author can, how easy does that town have to be to take it for all its worth?

She's unkillable! They often try to kill her right at the end after she's explained the whole story but the cop always walks in and says "that's enough, MISTER STINKY!"
