OK, from a total outsider point of view: So there is this guy who happens to get deep" into what is supposed to be a supersecret organization where people are advised not to write down information because it's all totally supersecret, and he not only lives to tell about it but is also not stopped when he makes it public on the internet?
Now, why does that strike me as peculiar?
You can’t ever erase the stain of torture, but this command deserves credit for figuring out what to do about it, and how to meet the need for intelligence without roughing people up, and how to get inside the decision loops of the insurgents.
I think one of big challenges will be to figure out how you create legal framework for that that allows for a prompt response that at the same time assures accountability. And I would hope members of Congress are thinking about that.
