I love those old posters, I've got a couple of old rick griffin "originals". When I was growing up , Airplane used to play in a club called "Boston Tea Part" just outside of Kenmore Square (now Government Center in Boston)

I envy, you - wish I had got the chance to see the Airplane - wasn't even alive in the 60s, but the spirit lives on!!

oh fuck, I got to see Genesis perform "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" in Albany back then, and fucking Bill Bruford doubled with Collins on some of the stuff. Fripp showed up , and Greg Lake was there too, so they were doing some Crimson.

Remember Yes? They performed "Close To The Edge" at this club in Albany for the album release party, and that was some show.

LET'S HAVE A WILD THYME!!!!!!!!!!!

THE AGE OF AQUARIUS IS UPON US AGAIN!

My favrit airplane gig was at Woodstock though, that and TEH JIMI DAY. That fucker played for hours, starting very very early in the morning.

For what I got to experience back then, I'll take being old any day

I've just bought my first Dead album - what are some of the best Dead songs, Jack?

Blues for Allah is my favrit Dead album, but the early stuff is really where it's at. Dead shows were always sort of not my cup of tea, although the Watkins Glen gig was an anomaly, between them and the Allman Brothers, forget jam bands :)

I really liked their Warlocks stuff and the Merry Pranksters period also.

Aeire: Gang of Eagles -

this song is hardly ever mentioned, but it's one of my favorite Airplane records ever, despite being from the later period. it needs more recognition!

How he knows where he's going -
Never lost -
No one, well there's no one faster
Direction born in his brain

He's got no reason to hide
He's got no laws to cross
He's got
Well he's got no master
Freedom born in his name

Aerie (3x)

Well you can't fly human master
No you can't fly - fly by yourself
You can't fly dying master
Without a rifle on your shelf

Aerie (3x)
