I wouldn't say that. Linux as a consumer-facing OS is a colossal joke.
Allow me to soften the preceding very slightly: Linux as a back end is pure platinum and absolutely is the backbone of any enterprise. Not that it's bad on a desktop, it's just that its open source philosophy hamstrings the creation of what you'd call "pro-sumer level" applications like you'll find on macOS or even Windows.
