Adam Silver - NBA will 'definitely' be back in Mexico City
Silver noted that despite the added scheduling difficulty, the league's commitment to having more games in Mexico remains strong. No other country outside the United States and Canada has hosted as many NBA games as Mexico. Twenty-three NBA teams have played at least once in Mexico City over the past 31 years.

The USA is trying to stop illegal Mexican's from coming here, but our basketball team is crossing the boarder to entertain Mexicans<<Ain't that a BITCH!

NFL Thanksgiving Games: History, traditions and best moments

Thanksgiving Day to sports fans is as much about football as it is about the traditional turkey dinner. From high school football in the morning to watching the afternoon game on TV as dinner starts, this tradition is as old as time. Well, almost as old as time. The Detroit Lions have played at home on Thanksgiving every year since 1934 -- except when games were paused from 1939 to 1944 during World War II. The annual holiday tradition expanded to add a home game for the Dallas Cowboys in the 1960s. These franchises -- and their fans -- only know football on Thanksgiving. In 2006, the NFL added a third game with no specific host team to the prime-time window.

The Lions were first up to host games every year: In 1934, Lions owner G.A. Richards scheduled a holiday matchup between the Lions and the Bears. Earlier that year Richards had purchased the Portsmouth (Ohio) Spartans football team and moved it to the Motor City, renaming it the Detroit Lions. The defending back-to-back world champion Bears beat the Lions 19-16 in front of 26,000 at the University of Detroit Stadium on Nov. 29, 1934. Now, more than eight decades later, Thanksgiving football has become a staple in Detroit, with the Lions going 37-44-2 in the annual holiday classic. -- Woodyard

Thirty-two years later, the Cowboys joined as a home team: The Cowboys first played on Thanksgiving in 1966, beating the Cleveland Browns 26-14 at the Cotton Bowl. General manager Tex Schramm wanted more national publicity for the Cowboys -- this was before they were known as America's Team -- and thought the holiday game made perfect sense. The NFL was a bit worried, however, and guaranteed the Cowboys a certain amount of gate revenue. A crowd of 80,259 showed up and a tradition was born. The Cowboys have played on every Thanksgiving Day since -- except in 1975 and 1977.

Broncos to bench Russell Wilson, will start Jarrett Stidham

The Denver Broncos, facing a looming decision about Russell Wilson's future with the organization, have benched the nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Broncos coach Sean Payton informed the team Wednesday morning that Jarrett Stidham will start Sunday with Wilson serving as the backup. Next season marks the first year of a five-year, $242.6 million extension signed in 2022 by Wilson, who already will make $39 million guaranteed in 2024.

The Broncos are 16th in the league in scoring (21.8 points per game), 20th on third down (36.7%), 31st in goal-to-go situations (53.6%) and 25th in passing (187.5 yards per game). Wilson, 35, is tied for sixth in the league in touchdowns with 26, but is 18th in yards passing and has one 300-yard game this season -- in Denver's 70-20 loss to the Dolphins. What the Broncos do with Wilson moving forward will be the biggest roster decision they face in the offseason. The Broncos have just six draft picks in April, with no second-rounder, and would face unprecedented dead money charges of $85 million combined over the 2024 and 2025 seasons if they cut Wilson.

Russell Wilson: Broncos told me to adjust contract or be benched

Russell Wilson said that in the days after he helped orchestrate the Denver Broncos' first win over the Kansas City Chiefs since 2015, team officials approached him to adjust a salary guarantee in his contract, and if he didn't, he would be "benched for the rest of the year.'' Coach Sean Payton announced Wednesday that Wilson lost his starting job in favor of Jarrett Stidham for Sunday's home game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Payton has said it was strictly a decision based "on winning" and "to get a spark offensively."

But Wilson said Friday the Broncos approached him about waiving a guarantee in the five-year, $242.6 million contract he signed in 2022 that would give the veteran quarterback, who already is guaranteed $39 million in 2024 whether he is on the team or not, another $37 million (his 2025 salary) guaranteed if he could not pass a physical on the fifth day of the new league year in March. Team sources have said they hoped to adjust the timing of that guarantee. Wilson continued to express hope he has a future with the Broncos but admitted he has considered the possibility he does not.

Wild Card Playoff: Green Bay (48) @ Dallas (32)

Green Bay | 9 - 8

Jordan Love threw for three touchdowns, Aaron Jones ran for three more and Darnell Savage returned an interception 64 yards for a score, Romeo Doubs had a career-high 151 yards receiving a week after being hospitalized with a chest injury and the Green Bay Packers handed the Dallas Cowboys their first home loss since the 2022 opener in a 48-32 wild-card stunner Sunday. The Packers have never lost in six trips to AT&T Stadium, including the Super Bowl over Pittsburgh during the 2010 season. They now have two playoff victories over the Cowboys

Dallas | 12 - 5

Dak Presott threw two interceptions before three mostly empty touchdown passes in another playoff flop for him and the No. 2 seed Cowboys (12-6).Prescott finished 41 of 60 for 403 yards, with all three of his touchdowns to tight end jake Ferguson. Dallas had won its previous 16 regular-season home games, but now has allowed the most points in a game in the club's postseason history. The previous high was 38. The Cowboys, who haven't reached an NFC championship since the most recent of their five Super Bowl titles 28 years ago. Dallas is the first team to win at least 12 games in three consecutive playoff seasons without making a conference title game.

Does Mike McCarthy deserves to be Americas team (The Dallas Cowboys) coach, ^^^After that beat down by his former team (Green bay)?^^^

Assuming/more than likely that Dallas lose this game, can we also assume Mike McCarthy ass is DONE? Could Bill Belichick, Michigan's Jim Harbaugh or Alabama's former head coach Nick Saban become the next Cowboys head coach? The Cowboys has the personal to win a Super Bowl next year.

Imagine Belichek coaching that team? That might be awesome to behold.

Jerry Jones' disgusted reaction hints Cowboys will fire Mike McCarthy, hire Bill Belichick

The Dallas Cowboys had everything in front of them. A minimum of two home playoff games after surging to the No. 2 seed. Avoiding the 49ers until the NFC Championship Game. A favorable draw against a hot, but overachieving Packers team that fields the youngest roster in the NFL. Despite all of that, Mike McCarthy's team wet the bed to the highest extreme. There's obviously a ton of blame to go around. Dan Quinn should be near the top of the list after his defense got absolutely worked against Jordan Love and a bunch of first- and second-year receivers. and Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb picked the wrong time to have their worst games of the season. McCarthy has to top the list, though. The Cowboys unraveled after they fell down 14-0 early in the second quarter and McCarthy curled up into a shell as a play-caller at the first sight of adversity. Again. We hate -- absolutely hate -- to call for someone to lose their job, but Sunday should be McCarthy's final game as Cowboys head coach. If Jerry Jones had any sense, held already have Billchick on the phone discussing a contract.

^^I called it!^^...Its the best chance that Bill Belichick has to equal or surpass Tom Brady's Super Bowl wins, which will make no dought about him being the G.O.A.T of coaching in the NFL.I'm hoping Bill doesn't go to a team who didn't make the playoffs this year...Of course, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles Rams probably needs a coaching change.

Bill Belichick's Top Landing Spots After Cowboys Retain HC Mike McCarthy for 2024

So much for Bill Belichick being the person to end the Dallas Cowboys' decades-long Super Bowl drought. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday the Cowboys will keep head coach Mike McCarthy for the 2024 NFL season, and team owner Jerry Jones confirmed the move: Many fans thought McCarthy might be out the door following Dallas' disastrous showing in the NFC Wild Card Round. Belichick was then floated as a natural replacement given his past track record.
Instead, the vacancy won't be opening at all. Belichick at least has other options, some more attractive than others. Based on what's available, these franchises have the most to offer the 71-year-old.
