There are some gaps in my knowledge that I can't comment on favourably, so I'm going to have to rely on you guys to do some entries as well.

I can't comment on the WACKY'S AXE / MY AXE thing for example. I don't know how this came about, and the fucking shitty search function won't allow you to search for words less than four characters in length.
 
Oops... I just posted my take on the Axe bit. Um.. we can change it still, my explanations aren't as thorough as yours.
 
I really glad you guys are doing this. This will save me asking dumb questions. Like what does NICO mean?
 
From Fellowship Of The Ring (movie) when the Fellowship is being formed and Legolas says "you have my bow" then Gimli says "and my axe!" Just stuck with me. I think I started saying it about a year ago?

We'll get to that one, but I reckon it'll be safer in Eggs' hands, as it were ;)

The Lexicon isn't just about me making entries. You're all welcome to do it - I just hope we can turn it into something more solid, in merging posts and coming up with something definitive. The Mine Field has been overdue a Lexicon for some time, IMHO.

As much as I can remember, my memory doesn't cover all the bases!
 
You're right, we should let Eggs handle NICO. He was a right sexy lad, IIRC. Am I right when I'm thinking of Henoch's av with the very obvious penid just barely out of frame?
 
Yeah. The male model in question topped himself, causing Henoch on one of his many loveable meltdowns to post NICO!!! in numerous threads. But I'm probably missing a few beats in there, because I was away most of that week.
 
It's just a pain not being able to link to anything to throw some insight to the beginnings, because it's a relatively recent one IIRC.
 
That's the problem with dynamic avatars and signatures, once they change they change...

I'm currently trying to wrack my brain for more terms - but I'm also thinking that discovering the meaning of these phrases for yourself is half the fun.
 
There's a lot more to cover yet, don't worry. Much of it has long since lapsed into disuse, but I'll be digging over it.
 
Since I can't really contribute to defining the terms and stuff, I'll just post whatever I don't understand here. Then you guys can decide if it's a MF term or not and take it from there. I've tried to figure out some of the things on my own but, you know, some of the definitions are so far in the past that it's almost impossible.
 
Almost impossible isn't impossible, my dear. The archives are calling, it's only about thirty to fourty days of reading...

Menty - work some links to threads in. See if you can get the earliest such appearance, and reference who started it (if we can nail it down - Eggs, wasn't it?). Nice one - forgot about it!
