Big Dick McGee
If you don't know, now ya know
This incredibly mild winter has been a boon not only to my golf game, but to my wallet. Our home is heated by natural gas, which is clean and convenient, but has become more expensive than oil or electric heat. I have a three-story house with a finished basement, it's about 2,800 square feet, old and big and drafty. Last year our average gas/electric bill was $400!
Anyway, with not having to use heat much this winter, we're saving a bundle. Apparently, PECO energy doesn't like that, because the last two months I've gotten a $6 "WAC" charge. I called them, and found out that WAC stands for "Winter Adjustment Charge". Basically, when the weather is mild, and natural gas consumption is down, PECO is allowed to charge its customers a fee BEACAUSE THEY AREN'T MAKING ENOUGH MONEY! I looked it up online, and yup, it's to guarantee that they generate a profit.
WHAT A FUCKING SCAM!!!
