New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services removes Adolf Hitler Campbell, sisters from parents' home
Wednesday, January 14, 2009
By Tom Quigley and DOUGLAS B. BRILL
The Express-Times

Authorities removed Adolf Hilter Campbell and his sisters from their parents' Hunterdon County home, Holland Township police chief David Van Gilson said Tuesday.

New Jersey's Division of Youth and Family Services took the 3-year-old as well as JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell, 1, and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell, who turns 1 in April, the chief said.

Van Gilson said he didn't know why the children were taken or who had custody. He said his department received no reports of abuse or negligence.

The children's father, Heath Campbell, reached Tuesday evening at a relative's home, first declined comment and later said the children were not removed.

The Division of Youth and Family Services would not confirm or deny the report.

A spokeswoman said the division doesn't comment on specific families.

The chief said the children were removed last week. He said a township officer was present.

"Whatever children were at the home were taken," the chief said.

A hearing is scheduled for Thursday before Superior Court Judge Peter A. Buschbaum at the Hunterdon County Justice Center, the chief said. He said a hearing on Tuesday was postponed when Campbell indicated he wanted a private attorney.

The hearing is to decide whether the state can temporarily place the children in another home, the chief said. He said township police Sgt. John Harris is scheduled to testify.

The Campbell family gained worldwide attention after a Dec. 14 story in The Express-Times about the children's names and a Warren County supermarket's refusal to write Adolf Hitler on a birthday cake.

Heath Campbell, who's previously said he picked the names to honor German ancestry and because they are unique, has reported receiving threats after the story was published.

Another Campbell family in Holland Township received a death threat intended for Heath Campbell, township police have said. That case remains under investigation.

Yeah, this is gonna end well. Just because his parents are Nazis doesn't mean you can take away their children.

Ya know... can't really get worked up about this. Any kind of fucknut that names their children Fucknut or Aryan Nation I'm going to bet are shitty ass parents.

Notice they didn't change their names to make a statement, but instead sentenced their children to 18 years of abuse.

Hm, no. Even the scumbags have their rights, no matter whether it's free speech or this. It's the same reason why those religious whackos had to get their children back - I sure as fuck don't approve of what they're teaching them but they're their children. They're their responsibility so they get to take care of them.

I wouldn't want my children taken away just because someone disapproves of my life philosophy.

I don't agree with the FLDS shitstains getting their kids back either. These children are being mentally and emotionally abused.

Don't be a psycho and you should be okay.

I'll take 'Support child rape or naming children adolf hitler' for 300 Alec!

How about disbelief in global warming? Or evolution?

Your first one would be fine - except it didn't happen. Using the second one as a reason is just plain ugly.

Gotta agree with the Pielady on this one. Being born to FLDS/Aryan Nation is a shit draw in life, but in the end of the day you've got to prove there is actual harm involved.

Would we care if some family named their kid Joseph Stalin, Mao, Che, Saban, Mugabe, etc?

Having racist parents is one thing. No one is taking them away b/c their parents are racist. However naming your children the names they did shows more than just racism. It shows a complete disregard for the welfare of the child. If giving niggers/jews/gmen a fuck you is more important than your childs mental and emotional well being, you don't deserve to have one, and it will be taken from you.

Bullshit it didn't happen. Look up the testimony of those have gotten out of that shithole. Look up Lost Boys in wikipedia. Caroline Jessop's Escape is a good starting point. Not to mention their Prophet is in Jail for it.

Children aren't property, they have their own rights. Parent's that mentally or emotionally abuse their children are just as bad as those that physically do so. Take 'em away I say!

Yeah, totally agree. They should go after little 'Apple' next, after all how can we let Hollywood stars name their children the way they want? Wouldn't want to have that. Or just think of all the abuse little Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa will get from his peers. A truly sad story and I'm sure it won't be long before the appropriate state agencies intervene.

But as the appeals court ruling upheld by the Texas Supreme Court noted, “The existence of the FLDS belief system as described by the [state’s] witnesses, by itself, does not put children of FLDS parents in physical danger. It is the imposition of certain alleged tenets of that system on specific individuals that may put them in physical danger.”

CPS claimed 31 underage girls at the ranch were pregnant or mothers. It later conceded that at least 15 of them were in fact adults while a 14-year-old on the list was not pregnant and had no children. The Associated Press reported that “more mothers listed as underage are likely to be reclassified as adults.”

In any case, as the appeals court noted, “teenage pregnancy, by itself, is not a reason to remove children from their home and parents.” In Texas the minimum age for marriage with parental consent is 16—raised from 14 in 2005 with the FLDS in mind—and “there was no evidence regarding the marital status of these girls when they became pregnant or the circumstances under which they became pregnant.”

There is quite a difference between an odd name and a intentionally inflammatory name. I would object to parents naming their child Fuck Nasty Cunts Johnson III, as well.

On the FLDS, the Texas Authorities should have learned from the results of the Short Creek Raid. The kids need to be taken away from that place ASAP, (Merrill Jessop himself being a child rapist) but they went about it the wrong way.

In time I've no doubt the sect will finally be destroyed, but how many lives will be ruined before then. :(

Only 18? What kind of jobs is this kid going to get when he comes in for a job interview with a name like that?

(I guess he could change it.)

Am I the only one who sees (or maybe is simply willing to acknowledge) the irony in that?

Kid's name may be Adolf, but he's going to grow up with no illusions at all about who the real nazis are.

Not sure - I wouldn't use the word "Nazi". However, the underlying tendencies in taking the kids away are certainly collectivist which, of course, applies to Nazism as well.

No, I think the word nazi fits -- national socialism doesn't belong exclusively to Germany circa 1936-1944, y'know.

Well that's just retarded. oO
How does this relate to national socialism? Additionally, national socialism comes with so many other strings attached (such as, ya know, a worldwar) that I'd always choose "fascism" unless Nazism really were more appropriate. That does not appear to be the case here...

Talking about the ideology, not the strings.

Note the second part: "It also opposes..." yada yada. That's what's being done here, the government targeting people who fall within a specific group of which "the state" disapproves "on behalf of the people" as it were.

And before you scream about a Wikipedia reference, I'd remind you that not everything on Wikipedia is wrong just because it's there, and one should be skeptical of the data, not of the source.

Problem is, that's true of every other totalitarian ideology as well. Kinda necessary if you wanna run a dictatorship. Therefore using a more general term is more appropriate.

P.S.: No problem with Wikipedia on my end - I find it very reliable and if it isn't, it's pretty easy to tell that there's something weird going on.
