Most women will say they go for personality rather than looks. Somehow, I think women (not girls) are just hardwired that way. Whereas men will mostly go for looks. Don't get me wrong, from a female perspective, looks are just as important but, quite frankly, there aren't that many really good looking humans this side of Hollywood and an "A" list plastic surgeon. If you were to see a picture of my ex-husband, you would have no doubt in you mind that I picked him for qualities other than his looks. Even his friends questioned my choice because -- DAMN, he was that unattractive. However, he turned out to be quite adept at making money.
In the long run, you can't maintain a satisfying relationship based on something as ephemeral as looks. Better to try for both, but stick with the engaging personality. I think they try harder.
