Maine

I want to go to Maine. One of my travel buddies wants to go to Seattle again. I didn't get to go when we last planned so I'd still like to go. But, I think I would like to go to Maine even more.

Maine is cool. Especially this time of year. Dont miss Kennebunkport if you get out there.

Plus you could stop on the way, have a nice meal, meet the wife and I :D

That is the thing about Maine - where is the best place to fly in and vacation for about a week? I like scenic drives, walking tours, seaside towns with ships and docks, lots of color. If you are near where wind up going, I'd meet up with you and say hello to you and your wife.

when you meet his wife be sure to show her Saint's $250 story

she'll be thrilled to know that's where her hard earned money is going

No, it was about somebody here. Well, somebody who was here at the time. Jack and Eloisel were having some form of lovers' spat, and he ordered up that story as a bit of trollery. I do love a good bit of trollery, so I obliged. Wouldn't even have charged for it except that working for free leads to more people wanting a guy to work for free. Sets a bad precedent.

Portland or Bangor. Portland's a jetport. Maine's pretty big, so you'll need to rent a car.

I'd rent a car once I got there. Don't want to drive in anymore heavy traffic/pedestrian areas like in downtown Boston or NYC. I did that last year and I think I'm good for awhile on that.

Next time I go to NYC I'm flying in and out or taking a train in or out - no driving in or out. I still love NYC, though, and I'm looking forward to going back there.

We go at least once a year for a few days. Doesn't take long to want to leave.

I'm from lower New England, but Maine is the one NE state I have yet to visit.

It doesn't usually look that appealing in all those Stephen King movies.

We didn't make it to Vermont or Maine last year. My travel buddy wants to go to Canada too. Maybe we could drive up that way as well. Just don't want to go when the place is a frozen wasteland. I'm Texan and we don't know how to drive in snow. When I lived in Colorado I walked on snow days - felt safer and was faster.

Austin is one of the best places to be. The motto there is Keep Austin Weird and it is but the most fun. Music, writers, art, bats, food, stuff in general. If you ever come for a visit you'd love it. You might not want to live there because usually in the summer it is hot enough to melt a person. But, in the fall and the spring, Texas is fabulous.

When I lived out west I visited Austin several times and what I loved most about it was the way zoning worked. Really fun city.

Vap's Irish trip seems to have consisted soley of looking over boring cliff tops in miserable weather

most normal people go there to get drunk
