one thing though, just because Sulu is gay doesn't automatically disqualify him from being the perpetrator - at the time he may have been confused/frustrated/in denial about his sexuality - after all, he's only just come out.

He may be a thoroughly decent guy who would never partake in such a crime, I don't know, just saying that the 'gay' defence isn't watertight.
