I read that they are postponing the movie "Gangster Squad" because there's a theater shooting in the movie, so now instead of September it comes out in January. And they are re-shooting the scene.
Really? Yes, what happened in Aurora is pretty tragic, but if you take things out of the movies that might be too close to home for some viewers, why not go all the way?
Let's take out explosions, because some people get blown up.

I don't understand it. It could be the sociopath in me, but it feels like an overreaction.
I remember back when the Colombine shootings happened, the WB (or CW) decided to not air one of the best Buffy episodes about someone wanting to kill the school. Turned out the lunch lady had spiked the food. And the guy with the gun in the episode (Jonathan) wanted to shoot himself, not other students. And I still thought...huh??
