Metroid Games: Rated in goodness

From what I've played.

Prime 3
Prime 1
Super Metroid
Prime 2
Metroid

Have yet to play:
Zero Mission
Fusion
Metroid II
Prime Hunters

I ranked Metroid at the bottom because it is fucking hard. If it had been the first one I played, I'm sure I would enjoy it more, especially for nostalgia reasons. But I played Super Metroid first...

And, I actually do enjoy Prime 2. It's big problem was it's more linear feeling and the amount of backtracking needed to get key items (partially done by the Dark World). Also, it needs more Metroids (and the Dark Pirate Commandos were annoying as fuck).

Prime 1 was too short, but is pretty damn solid. Needed an Escape Sequence at the end, IMO.
Prime 3 wins.

Super Metroid's hallmark: Beat the shit out of Ridley before he beats the shit out of you. The other bosses were tools.

Super Metroid and Prime are the only ones I have and I'd rate Super Metroid higher (one of my favourite games ever.) Some of the bosses in Prime were a bit frustrating with having to change visors all the time or whatever.

Playing through Prime several times (I just beat it again, missing only two fucking scannables), the visor swaps during boss battles gets easier.

I'm sure it does.

I've never played any of the Metroid games!

THAT IS WHY YOU FAIL.

Wacky, if you've a SNES emulator, you might be interested to know that some guys made a remake of Super Metroid that is about 10x longer and harder. I'll dig up the link if you're interested.

Y'all should get Wiis and play all three Metroid Prime games with the super-cool Wii controls.

No seriously the Wii controlas are fantastic you should play all three games when the first two come out with the new controls.

It'd be a marked improvement for Echoes, and it'd push Prime 1 to beyond excellent.

I don't have a SNES emulator but I'm sure I could find one.
