In one of those stories that have to happen before you'd even think of it:

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- The reigning Miss Deaf Texas died after being struck by a train, officials said.

Tara Rose McAvoy, 18, was walking Monday near railroad tracks when she was struck by a Union Pacific train, authorities said.

A witness told Austin television station KTBC the train sounded its horn right up until the accident occurred.

Maybe I saw too many Pink Panther movies as a kid, but I find this amusing in a morbid way. ;)

Yeah, when some ugly, hump-back crack whore buys it on the train tracks, that just doesn't seem to ever make the news.
 
Just to add: the reason some find it funny is because, like George Carlin said, there's nothing you can't laugh at...it's just a matter of perspective.

His example was rape. Ok, no one who's sane finds rape funny, but imagine Porky Pig raping Elmer Fudd. See...that's funny.

The Skinofevil scenario about Nana Visitor was funny not because rape is funny, but the reactions from the general crowd are what kicked it over into humor territory.

If someone dies on the train tracks, that's a tragedy. Sure. But the fact that a deaf woman was walking down the tracks and the train was blasting away at her makes it more humorous.

Hmmm, so she was text messaging on a cell phone instead of watching where she was going. Sounds like a Darwin Award winner to me.

You'd think that a deaf person would know not to walk on TRAIN TRACKS!!!

She deserved that. I'm going to reccomend this to the Darwin Awards.
 
I don't know that it's funny, but it is certainly Darwin Award worthy. Whoever she text messaged saying "Hey, I'm walking down the train tracks", I would guess ain't all that bright either.

That's where you and I differ Rob-O...I too have witnessed what death by train looks like, my brother's childhood friend got drunk and passed out on the train tracks, and I still find the story funny. Sorry, there's a laugh box where my heart used to be.

It is kind of cool to see a jaw bone disconnected and seperate from the other bits of body, though.
