Monarch of the Glen

Watching that series "Monarch of the Glen" on Netflix. There are several men walking around in their kilts like it is normal everyday wear. Is this true or just something for the TV show?

I dunno but I tend to think it's exaggerated. The show is written by the same Fellowe(s) that writes Downton Abbey which isn't exactly the most historically accurate costume drama ever performed.

An old boyfriend of mine lives in Scotland now. He said he'd be happy to show me around the country if I come for a visit. He's a musician and travels all over the place. Loves it there.

So, my friend said this to me about the men in Scotland wearing kilts for every day wear:
"Some of the remote places, the older gents still tarry aboot in Kilts. I was asked to wear a kilt for a national tv performance. I refused saying I did not wish to insult the Scottish people."

Guess I won't be going to Scotland. I'd love to see my old friend again but ... guess I could go to Scarborough Faire next spring. All the guys are wearing them.
