Trust me, ^ is just the tip of the iceberg:

And, as such, a Free Speech cause celeb (at least for a while) back in the day:

Personally, I find more "disturbance" and shock value in a picture or drawing where everything seems right, except for a small "thing" that makes you go : wtf ?

This is so full-on and gratuitous that it is childish.

Which makes it all the more puzzling what a furor they created.

Not puzzling at all. Diana was a punk kid caught in the middle of circumstance, a gruesome bunch of killings and bad timing. The prosecutor went after him just after the Gainesville killings, citing work like ANGEL as provocative and contributing to the killings. At one point he was arrested in connection with the killings because of his comics.

AWESOME

If he got convicted for it, that prosecutor needs a nice chat.
I don't care for this guy's art or style, but there's nothing that made go WTF. I think he has a bit too much time on his hands, but if he can make his bread this way, good for him.
Batman tends to be a bit more disturbing, especially if you know what to look for.

I was unaware of the Gainesville connection.
