Mulgrew would do a Kirk-Picard-Janeway film

“[William] Shatner, [Patrick] Stewart and myself in some sort of movie – I’d love to do that,” Mulgrew says of bringing her Captain Janeway back to life

Patrick Stewart is reprising his role as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in an upcoming CBS All Access “Star Trek” series, which, naturally, raises questions about who else could be pulled back into space from the beloved franchise.

Kate Mulgrew said during the Destination Star Trek Birmingham event on Saturday that she is ready to bring back Captain Kathryn Janeway, whom she portrayed on “Star Trek: Voyager,” should the chance arise — though, it might take fellow captains Stewart as Picard and William Shatner as James T. Kirk to get her back in the Starfleet uniform.

With Picard stepping back onto the bridge, who knows, maybe a reunion could be in the cards.
Janeway served as captain of the USS Voyager in the 1995-2001 series, and later a Starfleet admiral in the 2002 feature film “Star Trek: Nemesis.” There had been other female captains who appeared in “Star Trek” episodes to that point, but Mulgrew’s Janeway is the only one to serve as the central character of a “Star Trek” TV series.

Mulgrew, who has played the character “Red” Reznikov on Netflix’s “Orange Is the New Black” for seven seasons, also addressed how her “Star Trek” role “broke the mold.”

“I think that with Janeway, they broke the mold – Janeway embodied goodness as well as boldness, passion as well as intelligence. Her directive was the prime directive. Her compass was her moral compass” @TheKateMulgrew #DST #StarTrek

“At that time in Hollywood, it was very much a boys club” on the challenges she faced being a lead woman in Hollywood @TheKateMulgrew #DST #StarTrek

“You’re frantic because I’m a woman. You’re frantic because you think I’m going to fail ….I said Let them come to me” @TheKateMulgrew on what she told @berman_rick when they kept adjusting her hair, boots, etc #StarTrek #DST

I never noticed her boots, but I missed the bun of steel. The shorter haircut did make more sense for a person in the military, and I liked it too.

I'm sure she would do it. Doesn't mean there's any compelling reason for it to happen! (I know the same could be said for a Picard series but I'm biased because TNG is what go me interested in Trek. Also why doesn't she stipulate that Avery Brooks must be involved too, racism lol?)

About the episode where Voyager lands on a planet is where I realized the show was terrible and I didn't care about what happened to the characters. Watched the finale just for the sake of completeness. It was everything I expected it to be.

Shit, I don't even care about TNG now that it's on after TOS at dinnertime on Sunday nights. Tonight was..."Masks"? The one where they find an alien artifact that is converting the Enterprise into an ancient city and Data is possessed and there's absolutely no sense of urgency. "Captain, the ships systems are being infected by data coming from the artifact, using the sensor array as a carrier wave and I may be possessed." "Oh, well that's interesting. Let's keep it up and see what happens." In the end Picard wins by putting on a mask and BS's Data to take a nap. To be fair, the acting and production values are entertaining enough to make me watch the whole episode without thinking about how absurd every point about it is. And to be fair, it was preceded by "Your Last Battlefield," and The Riddler and some other guy in grey tights and black and whit grease paint, taking over the ship, makes "Masks" look relatively good in comparison.

They could save the money and put a little grey wig on a fucking bullfrog and just say it's Kate Mulgrew.

Janeway: "Braaaaabbt."
Picard: "Ehw, how veddy astute Admiral Janeway." *to Ensign* "Keep her away from the fucking helm, I want to be home in time for Jeopardy."

And after he tired of her, he'd Kirk-logic her into having a nervous breakdown.

Speaking of Borgs, remember that time in "First Contact" when the Federation benched Picard and crew and everyone was like "WTF?! You're the BEST choice to be in this fight" and Picard said it was because they were worried about his having been assimilated? Lies. The Federation sidelined him and his crew because one time they had a chance to completely wipe out the Borg without firing a shot and they didn't because Picard had named his pet Borg and now it wouldn't be fair to use him as a carrier for a virus.

I really didn't appreciate just how terrible a captain Picard was until H&I started showing All Star Trek Sunday nights. If I don't finish my dinner by the time Kirk & McCoy share a laugh at Spock's expense while chilling out on the bridge--or the cat gets on my lap, I'm stuck watching TNG. And I usually want to kill myself before they even get to the opening credits.
