Back injuries suck, but pain pills don't! Well.. Advil sucks, you need a prescription. Also, I'd take ibuprofen instead of acetaminophen if you're going over the counter.
I've built up a resistance to Acetaminophen, too many years of severe cramps. I have to take Ibuprofen even though I really shouldn't. But the good news is it's not an injury just part of PMS but it's still killing me.
I haven't iced my back but I did sleep with a heating pad on and that seemed to help a bit.
I thought Advil was made of acetaminophen.. hmm maybe I'm thinking of Tylenol. I buy the store brand of ibuprofen or take some prescription ibuprofen that my uncle gives away cause he's a veteran and the vet hosp gives out huge prescriptions that no normal person could ever use up.
I used to take prescription Motrin-it was 800 mgs.
Some chiropractic centers carry this stuff called myocalm. I used to take it when I had a back injury. I also took a natural anti-inflamatory that worked awesome. But then when my back was better I also took it for cramps. I wouldn't recomend ice for cramps then. That sucks. I can relate.
ab exercises and back stretches. every day. if it's the lower back I think it helps to do the one where you lay on your belly, hands behind your head, and have someone hold your legs down and then use your back muscles to pull up the top half of your body. 20-30 reps.
