My GTO arrived last Sunday!

The only pic I have so far I am using as my avatar, will post a few more later. It runs great and drives OK. Does sit low due to worn out springs. Body is in good shape with one dent in the drivers door and a few small dings here and there and for rust there is one hole in each rear wheel well and a 1/2" by 2 foot strip by the rear window. Overall looks like a good deal for $15K. Tomorrow restore guy #1 comes by to do an estimate. Will keep you all updated.

Pontiacs are great and all, but I'm just partial to Dodge and Ford when it comes to pony cars.

I was looking at Chargers before this GTO fell into my lap and couldnt pass up the deal. The key to a good classic cruiser is starting off with a decent car and decent starter Chargers are nearly impossible to find nowdays. Then just try to find parts for them! With a GTO there are several companies that make aftermarket parts and almost every part is available. This GTO I bought for 15K. It has the engine and trans rebuilt and the body is very straight with a few dents and light rust. Looking at what is available out there, I am way ahead of this game.

Very nice Dogbert. I was curiuos what GTO meant so I looked it up. Here is the GTO wikipedia.
The Pontiac GTO (Gran Turismo Omologato) is an automobile built by Pontiac in the US from 1964 to 1974 and by Holden in Australia from 2004 to 2006. It is often considered the first true muscle car.

Finally a real thread in this place.

:clang:

lol j/k. I guess one tiny serious thread couldn't hurt. As long as we contain it and don't become Mine Field II: Eclectic Spamaloo.
