Neil Gaiman writing new Sandman series

THe first series was nothing to write home about it was OK but just too weird for my taste. Neil Gayman is a good writer but not sure if he's going the same route as Frank Millars attempt at the Dark Knight 2

I still haven't gotten around to reading the first series. I bought a book that said Sandman on it, but it turned out to be a collection of short stories not even written by Neil Gaiman, but I guess edited by him or something? I don't know. I never read past a few pages because I was :rwmad: I ordered the book online, and there were so many Sandman options I just didn't know which one to get and some of them were super expensive, so ANYWYA I got the wrong one.
