I want to smell dark matter
Not the best start. The first episode of the season is neer usually much good, I suppose. The aliens were cute but not scary at all. I was waiting for the moment when they'd turn nasty but it never came. I guess they could come back later in the season all grown up. The villain woman was too campy and not much of a threat. She didn't even kill the black girl who was snooping around, just kept tying her to a chair! The music was really annoying and overdone. Catherine Tate wasn't too bad, at least. Sure is ugly though!
 
It was like an unused script from The Sarah Jane Adventures that was rejected becuase it was "too immature".
 
Sarah Lancashire could have used a different expression for the episode other than "smug self assurance"

Plus someone should tell RTD, gravity doesn't behave like in a road runner cartoon, people don't hang in the air until the realise nothing is holding them up.
 
If you want to be annoyed then read the review thread at DS where it's near universally praised, there's 40 posts of "OMG ROSE BEST TWIST EVER" (even though we knew she was going to be in this season and she did nothing in the episode but look bored then disappear) and everyone rates it 10/10!

If you want to be REALLY annoyed go onto the DoctorWhoForums board (formally Outpost Gallifrey) and read the posts in the new episode forum.

There's a weekly rating thread, 1-5, where five is "the best of the best". And EVERY episode. EVERY EPISODE is rated either 4 or 5. And EVERY comment is "THE BEST EPISODE EVER!!! SQUEEEEE!!!! I CRIED AT THE END!!!!!!!!" and if you even dare say something negative about an episode they'll tell you to stop trolling and get out because you can only be a Docotr Who fan if you love every single episode 100% blindly.


Seriously don't ever go there.

It's funny because they actually will admit that Torchwood is pretty shit, but then refuse to say that Doctor Who is anything except 100% perfect even though it has a lot of the same problems.
 
Except much less gayness, and as well all know on the modern day Beeb, gayness improves anything. Just you wait until Graham Norton starts doing the 10 O'Clock news in crotchless panties & a black leather basque.

The gravity thing was also annoying where the Doc spoke to her and she stopped moving upward, as though she had a choice in the matter.
 
Yeah, very selective tractor beam, like the lifts on the enterprise, where a journey will take exactly as long as it needs to for Kirk, Spock and McCoy to finish their conversation.
 
God, the comments on DS are shit.
