Thanks to this brilliant sketch of the abductor.

How lucky for the McGanns that one of the people in the resteraunt suddenly remembers now that she actually saw someone carrying off a kid in the middle of the night dressed in Maddys nightclothes.

Information that would have been even more useful RIGHT AWAY!

Just to be annoying and slip out of surreality for a sec.. they said right from the beginning that they'd seen someone walking away with a child, but the family friend didn't know it was Maddy at the time because they assumed she was still in bed.

This pic is hilarious though. The guy would have changed his hair and clothes right away, and somehow they didn't get his face at all?
 
So its alright for some swarthy foreigner to make off with a british kid in the middle of the night, as long as your fairly sure its not yours or your freinds.

I dont think any of the MgGanns or their freinds have a brain cell between them.
 
Yeah, they're not masterminds, so does it really seem like they could have successfully killed her with so much media attention, as you've suggested in the past? ;)

From what I gather, the family friend thought the bloke was carrying his own child home, perhaps because it was late and the kid was tired. And children don't always have the same tone of skin as their parents.
 
I still think one or both of the parents were involved.

Theres plenty of stupid people got away with murder for a long time because of lack of evidence.
 
Well the whole area seemed to be searched very well, so presumably they'd have needed an accomplice to get the body out of the town. As I recall, the parents themselves didn't leave the town for a long time.
 
Maybe the slipped her body into a pocket universe.
