Wandered Athens until sundown. Climbed the east face of the Acropolis, then walked for about four hours in random directions through the markets. Drank a small bottle of Ouzo; ate goat cooked with goat cheese and potato. Not bad. Went out a little later and eventually ended up in a grocery. Cheap wine - packed in 1.5 litre water bottles at 2,5 Euros each; Ouzo packaged in the same manner at 9 Euros. We saw it at first and started laughing; the clear Ouzo in a water bottle was great camouflage. We bought three litres of wine for five Euros and found a park. Half a dozen tortoises were living in a pond of trash. Climbed to the top of the hill; upon entering the park we'd been sober, when we reached the top we were pretty wasted. Sat with the Acropolis on our left and the cityscape everywhere else and discussed politics until sunset, then returned to the hotel and fell asleep.
