So, my wife works in the mental health profession and has such extreme faith in it that she carries a piece in her car. She's repeatedly said that if you truly knew how many really mentally ill and dangerous people are walking the streets of America due to the lack of proper care facilities, you'd shit yourself. Apparently, so long as you can answer "do you have thoughts of hurting yourself or others" in the negative, they'll let you slide.
I believe it, and I've seen it. I would carry if I were in her situation as well and I don't currently own any guns. I am not against owning them and don't want to ban them, I am tired of the dumb examples I have been seeing online, which I really need a break from.
I am going to ponder the suggestion that the US bring back mental instituions. I know hospitals have certain floors that are dedicated to psyciatric care and there are residential homes for children, but they cannot display violent or agressive behavior. So then these people go back to living in their homes where the parents are not equipped or have the proper resources.
I am watching "God knows where I am" on Netflix. It is about this lady named Linda Bishop who had schizoprenia. Some of her family are assholes, but I haven't been there, so what can I say? She was at an institution and was let go. : (
She found an old house and lived in in from October until she died in December. She lived off apples, and she kept a diary.
The owners of the home, who lived an hour and 1/2 away had no idea she was there.
She hid from everybody.
Her body was found by someone looking for a house to buy.
Listening to this is like listening to Jillian. Or is it GIllian? Sorry, I can never remember.
