I didn't catch the road to runway show... be we did sit down for a few eps of season 1. My wife and I just kept shouting, "EAT A DICK, WENDY PEPPER!!!" every time she opened her bitch ass mouth.

Project Runway rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Malan is fascinating in a what-exactly-is-that? kinda way. He certainly makes an impression. And I like the tall red-headed woman. That fur-trimmed coat she made was awesome. What's-his-name, the rock-n-roll designer? I can't decide whether he actually has a freakishly thick neck, or it just seems that way because of the writing on it.

All in all, the designers seem a lot more professional this time around, or perhaps I mean more experienced. I predict this means there are even more Divas. Oh, teh drama!!

Road to Runway is always fun. I love seeing the familiar faces from seasons past. How perfect is it that Austin Scarlett is designing wedding dresses now? That is just so him. I wonder about some of the others, like Andre or Nick (the guy who did both season 1 and 2) - what are they up to? It would be cool to hear from all of the former contestants.

This show makes me giddy.

OMG! I've hung out with Melan in one of my regular Village piano bars! He's the local favorite among the showtune dinosaur set.

All I can say is, when he's smashed...he's not that different. Just more maudlin, but still with that goofy grin and bulging eyes. And yes, some kind of accent was always there, so it's not completely manufactured.

The Fashion Week finals aren't till September, but filming is long over for the inital 13 weeks of competitions. When I went in the other night, word around the street was there was a camera crew filming him in the neighborhood that night, so it's possible that his chances are good to go pretty far in the game...nobody confirmed what the crew was for, so it could have been local news for all anyone knew...

Looks like it's going to be a little less cuddly this year, there are some angry, arrogant people in that bunch. Hopefully they won't forget the funny.

But nothing will ever top Santino's legendary rendition of "Tim and Andre at Red Lobster"...

Runway Report

And, no, we’re not talking about a torn seam or a bad piece of charmeuse. The New York Daily News reports that Hungarian model Jia Santos (née Eliza Jakubek) was paired with one of the show’s three finalists when she was struck by a bus while riding her bike to a taping of the show in New York City. “She was dragged underneath the bus,†her agent, Avenue Models’ Javier Hernandez, told the paper. “She fractured her skull and her eye socket and was in critical condition for three days. Now she has been in intensive care for a month.†According to Hernandez, her first words upon waking up were, “Am I still on Project Runway?†While the News indicates the finale has already been taped, we hear that it actually won’t be until New York’s September Fashion Week. But Santos will be included somehow in the show and her accident will be explained. We wish her a speedy recovery.

I'll have to look for her next episode, I don't remember which one she was...

Seriously, how did I get sucked into this show? It was Jay. It was Jay all along. From the first promo forward, he had me. "I'm going to win America, you wait and sssee!" <-- lisp.

I like that cat who worked for Mattel doing Barbie attire. He seems one of the more level headed people on the show. The rock-n-roll guy is a little to into himself to really cut it, that is unless he realizes how close he came on the first durn challenge.
