Once Upon A Time

Mirah

I love you
I became a fan this weekend due to a marathon of shows that were playing. Anyone else watch it?

Oh and PS I just discovered a bunch of cool stuff on XBOX 360 like Game of thrones downloads and stuff. I am a happy camper.

PSS if anyone can answer my Geek Squad Question in that other section-that would be great! : D 0_0

XOXOXOXOXOXOOXOXO

I've been watching it all along. On Sundays, I'm an old lady, Everyone else is watching HBO or Fox, and I'm watching OUAT, Revenge and Good Wife. ;)

I watched both OUAT and Grimm when they premiered at the same time, and for some reason I only stayed with OUAT. I guess my slight beef with Grimm was that it was trying to hard to seem "realistic", whereas OUAT celebrates its fantasy element to the point of camp.

I feel like we've had this conversation SOMEWHERE...

I watch Once Upon a Time and Grimm. They're both good!

I agree Grimm is good, it's just that I already watch so much TV that I really have to click with a show in order to keep following it. ;)

Maybe I gave up on it too early. It seemed a bit too procedural at first. I hate most modern procedurals. I'd sooner poke my eyes out than watch CSI or Law & Order. It's why I gave up on Vegas, even though Dennis Quaid, yum. It could have been a great period drama, but in the premiere, it took all of a half-hour before hick cowboy quasi-sheriff Quaid was noticing the sole patterns in shoe tracks at a murder scene. Bitch pleaze!

I think it took Grimm a little bit to find itself... OR SOMETHING? It's still kinda freak of the week, but it also has the underlying mythology, and the ongoing mystery of the Grimms and royals and all that stuff. It's also a bit silly at times, and sometimes scary. At first I was annoyed by the procedural-ness of it, but now it's kinda funny, you never know what creature will turn up. I don't even compare the shows in my mind, because they are so different. I like OUAT, though, I like the characters more than the story. Regina is all kinds of awesome, Lana Parrilla is perfect. I could watch her evil queen it up ALL DAY LONG.

I live OUAT, but I'm ready for Snow And Charming to be taken down a notch. They've gotten a little sanctimonious.

I felt bad for Regina. Everyone ate her lasagna and nobody would talk to her. BASTARDS

But her irrational hatred for Snow is beginning to be far fetched. Snow's not responsible for what Cora did. She was a little girl who had no idea what Cora would do.

Cora isn't responsible for actions either. She was corrupted by Rumplestiltskin who was himself corrupted when he killed/became the Dark One.

After watching Once upon a Time last night I felt like I just got done watching Heroes, but on a different network.

More Disney-Lucasfilm ‘Star Wars’ Synergy — This Time On ABC’s ‘Once Upon A Time’

By NELLIE ANDREEVA | Sunday January 20, 2013 @ 10:52pm PST

When volunteers dressed as Darth Vader and his Storm Troopers helped build a house on an Extreme Makeover: Home Edition special a month after Disney‘s acquisition of Lucasfilm was announced, the Mouse House dismissed the corporate synergy as a coincidence as the ABC special had been filmed a year prior. But that cannot be said about tonight’s episode of ABC’s fairytale drama Once Upon A Time, which featured the Star Wars music theme. Incorporating Star Wars into the show is tricky as it takes place almost exlusively in fairytale world — past and present. But the first chance the producers had to introduce Star Wars since the Lucasfilm acquisition — when a guy from Pennsylvania drives into fairytale Storybrooke — they took it: When the stranger’s cell phone rang, its ringtone was the Star Wars theme. The homage shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Once Upon A Time creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis are self-professed “massive Star Wars fans.” As for Darth Vader and company making an appearance on Once, it is not that far-fetched following tonight’s episode which established that characters from worlds other than fairytale land (like Dr. Frankenstein) can find their way into Storybrooke. Maybe that includes a galaxy far, far away…
They're really throwing every possible fantasy character into this show that they can think of. I thought the inclusion of Dr. Frankenstein was silly, but then they also included Mulan only because she's a Disney property, and not a part of Aesop's Fables or Grimm's tales.

What's next? Tarzan? A Muppet? HAYLEY MILLS?

I'm hoping for some HG Wells or some Verne characters. Captain Nemo vs Captain Hook, Morlocks, Eloi, a Time Machine, etc.
