OK. This is the last one. (At least the last one I have.) It isn't really related to the other two polls (at least I don't think it is). The question is if you feel like there needs to be a new board to meet your needs. I'm presently building a board, but I really don't have the time or desire to run a board. And when it gets down to it, I'm sort of thinking that between TBBS, WF, TK, and Starscape, people have a place they are comfortable at. Or at least comfortable enough.
 
I'm going to hold off on voting on this one for now. On the one hand, there is Starscape BBS for posters that find Trollkingdom too...intense (or spammy). And TK still has more of that Wild West feel to it, if that's your bag. But on the other hand, neither board has the same mix of people and ideas that Wordforge has. ...That said, there's no guarantee that starting a new board would draw the same mix of people and ideas at WF. And things would definitely be slow for the first couple years... :(
 
I would have a good think about even bothering to open it, if you're not 100% sure that you have the energy to run it. Too many people have opened too many boards with half-a-heart, and they all end up like a fucking graveyard in the end.
 
If there were another board with WF posters, I might post there occasionally, but would create the majority of my posts here.

I'm a creature of habit. What can I say? :shrug:
 
And drop the self defeatist attitude you've got going there too. No one's going to follow you to a new board if they don't think you won't put any effort into it.
 
I do think you have a good idea. But yeah, the self defeatist attitude has to go.

If you want a new board, *create it*. Who knows? It just might be successful. With the right, ethical people at the helm.

I think you have enough disgruntled WFers to make it viable. PM around. But don't do anything in full view, initially. There are those who would see fit to sabotage such an endeavor, for purely petty reasons.

I read some of your PMs the other day. Not very interesting. Going on about where to buy the cheapest rubber gloves, how to plunge the sink, remove limescale with vinegar, and all this boring domestic nonsense.
 
Much as I'm disatisfied with the way WordForge has been run lately, I don't think there is any point in trying to re-invent the wheel. Some people would post at both boards, some at just the new one, but I suspect the majority would stick with WordForge. The enjoyment there is in the community, and without the community, I don't think another board is very useful (unless it is one designed with a completely different intent). The best chance for helping the community lies in fixing Wordforge, which is why I ignore all the taunts from Cassandra about starting a new board.
