Oprah says "Americans, you made the right choice"

Big Dick McGee

If you don't know, now ya know
WTF, is she going to pat us all on the head like we're fucking Downs kids, and send us off to play with our lollys (gubmint subsidies)?

Fucking patronizing bitch!

I was watching PBS last night. At one point Jim Leherer started to speak but couldn't; his voice cracked and was hoarse for the next ten or so minutes. When the camera cut back to the news room his eyes were red. It was adorable.

^^He should be fired, immediately, as should any journalist that shows a whit of partisanship. Journalists should be impartial; there are far too many the tacitly suppport one party or the other.

I disagree. The camera was not on him when he had trouble speaking; I suppose it is possible that a sip of water went down the wrong tube. The timing of it implies otherwise.

On another note, journalists are not impartial, they are people. I prefer to know which way journalists lean because it allows me to reflect upon that while assimilating the information they deliver. Which is why FNC was my channel of choice in the late 90's, before the "fair and balanced" slogan. They did not try to hide their political views, and I respected that.

Which journalists do you feel should remain on staff, BDM?

What was the context in which he was losing his voice and having eye irritation. What was he announcing?

Brokaw, Lauer, Viera from NBC. Natalie Morales, Anne Curry as well.

From FNC: Neil Cavuto, Greta Van Sustern, & the whole morning crew. The best, though is Shephard Smith. The guy is great, he'll give it to either party if he thinks they've fucked up, and his broadcasts from a Katrina-ravaged New Orleans were extremely powerful. He was yelling at his own colleagues who were safely ensconced in a studio, talking about shit they had no idea about, whil Shep was on the ground.

People like Leherer weren't getting choked up because a Democrat won. They got choked up because they lived through the 60s, and now a black man was elected President. It represents growth as a nation for those of us who don't consider blacks an evil burden who need to be flushed.

Try to get some perspective in between your rants, please.

Shepherd Smith is a closet gay like Anderson Cooper, BTW. They even live in the same neighborhood here in the Village.

He has sparkly eyes. I kind of liked the way he ended Nader's political career last night in that interview.

Cavuto is a constipated pro-corporate dinosaur. He needs to shut up most of the time.

Gay, straight, I don't care, Shep is THE MAN. When I saw him yelling at the anchors back at FNC headquarters, I realized the guy doesn't give a rip about anything but the truth of the story. He has been quick to criticize the Bush Administration, much to the chagrin of O'Reilly and Hannity, two nutjob losers.

I was having a blast watching Fox last night. It was so deathly quiet in the studio, and half the time they didn't know what to do with themselves. At one point Blond Girly Anchor #3 started walking around introducing staffers on camera.

I licked their delicious, salty tears with a joy only Eric Cartman can know.

And just like clockwork, after calling Obama the winner at 11PM, by 11:06 all the analysts were trashing what kind of president he might make. Good to know they'll be there for him as expected. ;)

If you were following the poll results on foxnews.com, like I was, you'd've seen that they were refusing to report the real numbers everyone else was. At one point CBS, NBC, NYTimes, and CNN had Obama at a 2million vote lead. Fox news was reporting it as close as 300,000. Even after all the major news corporations had announced that Obama had collected over 270 Electoral college votes, Fox news had their tally at 203. It was sad to watch.

On the flip side (and this is why Fox is just plain fucked up as an alleged news organization), they were also addicted to calling battleground states before any other network would. They called PA, VA, and Ohio a good 10 minutes earlier than CNN or the other networks, just so that they can say they were "first" in promo ads.

Apparently the massive confusion they helped cause in 2000 with this attitude didn't scare them off this time.

Rupert Murdoch should be tried in an international court and sent away to rot.

PA was a given. I even understood that going to the polls and voting for someone other than the Democratic candidate was a waste of my time. So, who could blame them for announcing that one early? As for Ohio... that's a completely different story.

I'm more of an Anderson Cooper gal myself. Any man who publically ridicules people like Dina Lohan then laugh when they try to bash makes my top ten list anytime.

Is Fox News the one with that stupid ass hologram on Election Night? "Help me, Obiwon Blitzer."

On a serious note, I am already tired of them showing clips of Oprah during Obama's speech. I think it's great and all that he's president (and FYI, I'm not even a registered voter) but by excluding all those who voted for him and only showing Morehouse College, Oprah, and Rev. Jesse Jackson shows a lot of hypocrisy.

Fuck Oprah. She's a commie whore with more money than any woman should be allowed to have that she hasn't received from a man.
