Paul Merton's Adventures

CaptainWacky

I want to smell dark matter
Like Paul Merton In China and Paul Merton In India and Paul Merton In Europe, except he isn't in one particular place and he's instead going on various types of holiday. Tonight he's on the world's largest cruiseliner. I'm sure he'll get in some scrapes!

It was ok. With all his shows I like them and I like him, but I can't help but think he needs a travelling companion who'd bring him out of his shell a bit. He says the occasional funny thing or gives a look to camera, but he's not exactly Louis Theroux. If he had another comedian to riff off of then he might come across as less awkward.

I enjoyed it, but it would have been nice if he'd got to stay longer in places (but then that's down to the whole nature of the cruise ship travelling.) He had that Chinese woman with him in China and their interactions were entertaining, so I see what you mean.

If you can find youtube or some other way of getting his channel four comedy show, from before he started have I got news for you, it was some very surreal and funny comedy, probably lost forever though, still remember one sketch.

Paul runs a newspaper stand.

Man comes up "Do you have psychic monthly?"
Paul "You tell me."

I used to watch it. There are some really awesome skits from it actually. Lots of dolphin people if I remember correctly as well.

I didn't know this was on (nothing on BBC iPlayer that's obvious?) but will now venture forth and watch religiously.

His complaint about wanting to spend holidays doing nothing very much at all was quite Karl Pilkingtonesque. He does seem to get pushed into doing a lot of things he doesn't really want to, as if he's being experimented on.
