I would like and appreciate advise on a ' reliable and dependable' Organizer.

I am totally exasperated as my Royal just took a dive off the deep end and I lost everything!! I just put new batteries in the darn thing 2 weeks ago as my biggest fear has always been that the thing would crap out on me. Now I've lost information that can not be replaced. *whining* I'm even thinking of going back to ' little red' the old address book that I had for years and it required no batteries.

whimpers....
Thank You...

I have no advice.. but lots of symphaty.. id hate for that to happen to me..
I stopped using one years ago, and have lived in chaos since then ;)

Ackk I can not live in chaos...I'm a type A personality, I will go crazy!!!

Sorry, when I saw the thread title, I thought you were refering to the midget butler that lives in my closet.

Wrong -- "like and appreciate" is a perfectly appropriate grammatical construct. Maybe you should actually study formal grammar before you attempt to correct others' composition. As for "advise", that's a malapropism, not a grammatical error.

As for you, RuReddy, I'd advise you to pick up a PocketPC if your budget will allow it. At the very least, upgrade to something with rechargeable main batteries and a backup battery.

*Only a fool would refuse a cuddle from you, sweetie....;)*

Thank You TQ...:D
Budget is a not a problem, I just want something I can count on.

The Royal was a gift. I don't think I would have selected that particular brand.

Well, I've got an HP IPAQ, and although it's dated now, it's a fine machine for personal information management as well as a wide variety of other functions. I'd recommend shopping around before you put down hard-earned money on one, because at the top end of the available hardware you'll be looking at $600-$700 MSRPs. You can get lower-priced hardware than that; just remember that, as with any other kind of computer, you only get what you pay for, and sometimes you get less than what you pay for. :P

HP's products are excellent; Dell's are excellent, as well, if the independent reviews I've read are any indication. I would advise against Palm, because scuttlebutt is that critical components of the existing hardware and software are being phased out. What that means for you is that you might find a $200-300 Palm today that you may or may not be able to get help with or replacement hardware for tomorrow. You'll want a happy medium between a good lifetime and a good price. Let me know if you'd like specific recommendations and what your preferred price range is, and I'll see if I can find you a good match.

You have been helpful in getting me to look forward to the next phase. At this time I'm separating my thoughts into two categories, needs and wants. I do want to shop around and don't want to buy something with all the fancy options I'll never use. I will take you up on your offer once I get it sorted out....

Thanks for your time...;)

That's one advantage of not having any friends, and not liking your famliy. No numbers to remember.

It clients, services centers and numbers of that nature that I really needed to have at my disposal. :(

Friends and family are secondary...But you did make me laugh. :)
