What shocks me is anyone on the left actually admitting that Hezbollah is being armed by Syria and Iran.
Wasn't that just zionist propaganda?
And as Victor Davis Hanson noted in his excellent article this week, what is it with the Arab mentality to always blame others for their failures in war?
The Arabs have always blamed their military defeats on other powers, most recently the United States. Yet the U.S. only started arming Israel in response to Soviet-era funding of all of Israel's neighbors.
Arabs place a lot of value on personal courage and personal honor. So why do they never blame their own warrior spirit for their failure in every military encounter with Israel? It's not a conspiracy, it just means you suck at fighting and you suck at war. The reasons are internal, not external. And they have to do with the failure of Arab regimes to provide a better life for their people. (Guess who get's blamed for that, too?)
