Poker Face

I want to smell dark matter
Started Poker Face at last, watched the first two episodes. I like it - very much an old-fashioned murder mystery show, but with a lot of money spent on it and directed by a Hollywood director so it actually looks really good too. I still prefer the Murder, She Wrote style where we don't know who the killer is until Jessica says "that's it!" but the Colombo approach this take has its merits too and I respect both!

I watched the first episode last night. The voices were all out of sync like a Japanese movie. Stupid free tv/movie app.

Episode 3 - Wasn't as interested in the story at first, but liked when the killer woman tried to manipulate Charlie's lie-detecting skill for her own ends. The asshole dog was cute.

Episode 4 - Chloe Sevigny was really convincing as an evil fading rockstar lady. There's been no "boy murder sure follows me around" type comments from Charlie so I assume this exists in the same reality as Murder, She Wrote where murders are just much more common.

I'm up to episode 8, some great guest stars along the way, and possibly a sly dig at Kathleen Kennedy.

One more to go. Great so far. My free tv/movie app however was missing episode 6 but instead had episode 5 twice.

Episode 5 - Weakest episode so far, as the plot about the hippies who tried to blow up children(!?) was just too weird. The fight scene at the end was funny.

I was distracted by how much the black lady looked like one of LMFAO in the sorry for party rocking video.

Also the whose the boss lady got old.

Episode 6 - I liked the twist where the two actors looked like they were going to kill each other but it was actually a set up. Jameela Jamil seemed a bit underused. Usually, Charlie knows the victim a bit before they die but she only just brought her a couple of drinks.

Episode 7 - Another TWIST to the killing - this time with the first intended victim commiting a worse crime than the first perpetrator - which makes me wonder if they'll go back to just having a straight-up murder again. The (attempted, no one died!) killer kind of gets away with it too beyond Charlie messing with his mind.

Episode 8 - Creepier episode with very strong guest performances. Felt bad for Tim Russ when his name didn't appear in the opening though.

Episode 9 - One of the strongest episodes, possibly because it was directed by Johnson himself and he brought an excellent tension to the whole thing. Strong guest appearances again from JGL, Stephanie Hsu and whoever the other guy was. But Charlie seemingly being immortal felt like a bit of a cheat but I guess JGL was in a hurry and didn't really check if she was dead...

Episode 10 - Great finish to the season. Did feel like Charlie could have gone back to the nice FBI agent as soon as Rhea Perlman threatened her but I think the idea is that Charlie actually likes life on the run.

It's a good show!

That was Rhea Perlman? I thought it was Natasha doing both voices. Also Rhea related to Ron?
