God is love. Learn it and live it.
That's not true. Accept God into your heart and you will stop hating, and you will love acting righteously. The Saint said:We all hate; the only variable is what we hate. Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.

Then why have more people died in his name than anyone elses?Alex Buchet said:God is love. Learn it and live it.
The existence of "Chrstian" "rock" "music" is a mystery far beyond my poor powers of comprehension. The Saint said:If that's true, explain "Christian rock" music. That, my friend, is a creation of raw, unbridled hate if ever there was one.
False Christians have done horrible things, to be sure.Cacophony said:Then why have more people died in his name than anyone elses?
I mean, nice attempt at a troll. But you should probably know something about what you're talking about before you start saying it.
I was raised Christian, by the way. My grandfather's a Baptist preacher. So I pretty much know what I'm talking about.
Are you suggesting that the Crusades were led by "false Christians"?Alex Buchet said:False Christians have done horrible things, to be sure.

Yes. The Medieval Church was a corrupt abomination.Cacophony said:Are you suggesting that the Crusades were led by "false Christians"?
However, there was nothing going against what they taught. If you weren't Christian then, you were an abomination. It wasn't until the late 1500s when Luther posted his theses and the Church split and things started to change.Alex Buchet said:Yes. The Medieval Church was a corrupt abomination.
Well, we have the benefit of hindsight, and the Reformation, and history, so we, today, can say that they were "false" Christians. In fact, we have to if we have confidence in our own faith today.Cacophony said:However, there was nothing going against what they taught. If you weren't Christian then, you were an abomination. So who's to say they were "false"? They had nothing to compare themselves to.
I have no confidence in people who say one thing and do another like the majority of Christians do today.Alex Buchet said:Well, we have the benefit of hindsight, and the Reformation, and history, so we, today, can say that they were "false" Christians. There will always be hypocrites in the world.Cacophony said:I have no confidence in people who say one thing and do another like the majority of Christians do today.
The only person I've ever seen to hold to his beliefs is my Grandfather.
I'll pray for you.The Saint said:Well, I'm not Christian, I don't buy into the 'sin' bullshit, and hate is as hate does.
