Okay. Saw it.
While I cringed through a great deal of this movie,
it is nothing compared to the nightmares I will be having
whenever I am able to sleep again.

Not that this movie was the best thing I've ever seen.
It isn't.
It just has a huge psychological impact.
While in a way the premise is absurd, in many ways it isn't.
After all, this is a time when 911 happened, kids kill each other for tennis shoes, some fairly intelligent beings hack into computer systems to do massive amounts of damage to total strangers just for the hell of it, and the rest of us are being trained to totally shun and deprive of a livelihood another human being for merely speaking the words associated with any number of non-PC things. Hell, I live in a city where we enlist volunteer "Code Rangers" to tattle on their neighbors for having tall grass, leaving their recycle bin on the curb too long, or having one too many cats.

Also found it interesting that IDs were checked at the entrance to the movie itself, not just at the entrance to the theater or at the ticket counter. I guess somebody feels teenagers would be inspired by this movie to repeat the heinous behavior depicted in the story. That is even scarier.

If you ignore the political allegory which I'm wont to do, it's supposed to be an excellent home invasion thriller. I'm looking forward to seeing it when it streams on netflix.

You really do need to move on. I'll never love you the way you so desperately need me to. We had our moments, it's true. But they were fleeting and far too few. I promise to smile when I think of you, if I ever do, and I'll always wish you all the best.

It is about the movie until Donovan comes around. When Donovan comes around, then it is about him. Did you know he wakes up in the middle of the night, goes and gets in his shower, soaps up and writes letters to me on his shower wall with the soap? He does. I never think about him when I wake up in the middle of the night. I never write him letters in soap anywhere. Ever. But, I find it fascinating that he does these things. Okay. Maybe fascinating is a bit of a strong word for it. I find it occasionally amusing for a few seconds. Now, back to the movie. Why are you waiting to see it on Netflix?

I'm glad I saw it at the theater. Puts some distance between it and home. Of course, that didn't help in Paranormal Activity. I'll wake up sometimes because my foot is hanging off the edge of the bed and I'll pull it back onto the bed before going back to sleep.
