Kid gets her innards sliced and diced in the morning. Then she'll be home for a week recuperating. She is gonna need the special Lulz while she is on pain meds.

Kid (MamaKitty) had her gall bladder removed this morning. She was cracking everyone up with her jokes and flirting with all the doctors and nurses before she went into surgery. The surgery went well. Doc said there was one giant gall stone about the size of a golf ball in her gall bladder and the gall bladder was inflammed too. She woke up in a panic in recovery though. Then they gave her a breathing treatment and an inhaler, which really got her heart racing and stoked the panic attack. When they allowed me back there, she grabbed my arm, crying she was in pain while gasping for breath. The post-op nurse and her surgeon assured me she was at 100% oxygen and they'd given her morphine. Then they ran me out of there so they could deal with her. Within the hour, kid was back in her room, more alert and recovering well. By the time we left at 3:30, she was ready to eat some eggs and take a nap. Right now she is in the bathroom looking at her incisions and whining about how bad they look. The four inch long incisions aren't that bad. When I had my gall bladder removed just 3-1/2 years ago, they stapled me back up even though the cuts were as small as hers. Hers, they just glued shut. My scars are almost gone now. Her cuts will heal smoother, without the lumps from the staples, and the scars will be near invisible in a couple of years.

She'll feel much better in a few days and she won't be as sick and have as much pain with that bad gall bladder gone. In November she goes back to the other doctor about her pancreas. She's been taking enzymes for that which has been helpful with some of her other issues. But, there is a black spot on her pancreas they are monitoring.

Cross fingers, knock on wood, salt over the shoulder, and all that ... come Christmas all this will be behind her and she'll be enjoying a nice dinner with pie and all the trimmings.

Awwww, well had you been here in June of '06 you'd know I've been there. I had to have emergency gall bladder surgery, hours from death. I'd put up with the heart attack like pain for entirely too long and I was septic.

I had the laproscopic cholesectomy and unfortunately my scars look like caca-poo, well just the belly button and the incision just above it, the other two have disappeared. I hope mamakitty has a speedy recovery and it's nice to know you're a mom like my mom, I'd suspected you might be ;). Except my mom didn't let me rest but the day I got home from the hospital, I think it freaked her out so bad she decided I needed to be up and normal as soon as possible.

I didn't freak out after anesthesia but when they pulled the breathing tube out I kept asking if I'd thrown up as they told me that I might because of my age and I suffer from vertigo. I didn't throw up but then all I wanted was my mommy. I got back to my room and they gave the morphine and it was love I tell you, L-O-V-E. But, I'm not one to be down for long so I willed myself out of my delicious morphine haze and got all cleaned up and even though I wasn't in very much pain I went for another dose of God's greatest gift, morphine.

Now on to the eggs you talked about...the hell? I hadn't eaten for four days and all I got were clear liquids. No fair I say, NO FAIR!!

Oh and, I don't know about you el but since I've had my gall bladder removed I've had far fewer stomach problems, it is so great!

I m still alive.. just a wee bit more sore then I want to be..

But it's ok.. Not only did I look like a french hooker while they were doing surgery on me. (dress and white thigh high stockings)

I was fllirted with the asain nurse who thought that I was bad and she was spanking my hand. Then she put me in the dress & stockings..

After the surgery we found out she had a pee fetish and she would not let me leave till I peed and she could see it..

She ripped off my stockings and would not leave the room till she got me back into my pants..

We wont discuss the dirtiness from the nurse and the anesthesiologists with the mai ties and margaritas and Nicole kidman.. Nor my doctor and his new hair cut..

I am going back to bed now..

Sorry if there are misspellings.. Drugs make it hard to concentrate..

Ha - I was here in June of '06 and I even posted in the thread about your illness.

I knew very well how you felt as the same thing had happened with mine in '04. Docs thought all kinds of other things were wrong with me before kid had to take me into the emergency room because I couldn't stop throwing up. I was in the hospital 3 days - with no food or drink - before my doc could operate, then I was off about a month after.

Kid has some other issues so I'll let her rest some, but it is true I'll have her up and walking around some every day. The last thing she needs is pneumonia, blood clots or bed sores from laying around too much.

Ahh, God's greatest gift is the narcotic they put on my eye when it was injured. They wouldn't even tell me the name of it because it is so addictive. All I know is my eye was torn up and they were about to pop it out on my cheek to repair the damage and I was freaking out, then they put that strip of stuff on my eye and it was instant nirvana. "Go ahead," I said, "I've never seen my cheek up real close and personal like."

Now on to the eggs you talked about...the hell? I hadn't eaten for four days and all I got were clear liquids. No fair I say, NO FAIR!!
I know, I know. I wasn't allowed food or drink 3 days before and all they let me have after the surgery was some nasty oatmeal and oily black coffee but I drank that oily black coffee and loved it. I was on a strict diet for a couple of weeks later too - but, I got to have ice cream so I survived.

Oh and, I don't know about you el but since I've had my gall bladder removed I've had far fewer stomach problems, it is so great!
Oh yeah, but I can't seem to hold onto my food for very long, it just goes right through me.

Thank you all..
My mother and husband deserve something for putting up with my drugged induced babel and winning. And the fact that I can not take a shower until tomorrow... They deserve a cookie for putting up with after hospital smell..
