Some comedian, I forget which, suggested that the time between not knowing something and knowing something has become so short that knowing something is so unsatisfying that it's practically worse than not knowing anything at all.
 
Did you guys hear that the creator of Bitcoin was ousted?Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto? I read the headlines. I'm pretty much a genius.
 
I think the coolest part is when you spend a few years on message boards you come to learn the other members strengths and interests. People like expressing what they know. Its basic human nature.

So when you bring up Bitcoin and start talking about it six months ago and you never see this kid contribute to the discussion you know he knows very little to nothing about it. Fast forward six months and this fifty-something-kid is a certified bitcoin historian. This same kid misquotes a big news headline in his conspiracy theory that read "CEO of Bitcoin Exchange Agency Found Dead in Singapore". Apparently that means that all the bitcoin creators are being systematically killed off. Never mind that a CEO of an exchange agency is not the same as a creator for a cryptocurrency.

Compound this idiocy with being called a troll for pointing this out. Similar defense mechanism to calling anyone who calls him a faggot a jackdancer. Imagine him driving down the highway and getting honked at for cutting someone off rightalling them a jackdancer. Yeah, that's right. Roll the window down, give him the finger, and call him a jackdancer.

Bra-fucking-vo.
 
You could make the same argument about everyone here including me. I learn tons of interesting shit from people who post something I don't know about and proceed to immerse mys elf in. I never heard of Die Antwoord before some dick kept talking about them. Now I think dey freaky and I like them a lot. Not only that I introduced offline people to them and totally poached credit for being the hip dude ahead of the curve.
All new knowledge is a good thing and I fault no one for trying to get some, even if they pretend they knew it all along.

If I did that, I would probably be called anything but cool. There are not many possibilities to smoothly intersperse terms of virtual reality into a discussion of plants.
Trust me, I tried. Last time I mentioned trolls, the girl I was talking to rambled on about the next bridge being too far away for us to be in danger.
