R.I.P. Chris Penn

Every bit as good of an actor as his brother Sean but without all the attitude. May he rest in peace.

I loved him in Footloose, To: Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar, and of course when he played Barry Manilow's roadie who had the hots for Will on Will and Grace.

Must be drug-related. I know he was a chunk o' change, but I doubt an otherwise healthy 40-year-old would just up and die like that.

I don't know, he doesn't seem like a drug user to me. Very few actors can get away with drug use anymore without getting caught at some point or someone at least doing a tell all about an actors drug use. I think it was a heart attack.

^^SHIT! That' fucking SCARY! I'm almost 35, I really gotta eat even healthier than I do. Thank God my weight is pretty much under control. I gotta lose this 10 or 12 pounds I gained over the holidays!!

Always overshadowed by his brother, and never given as much credit as he deserved. My favorite movies with him are Resevoir Dogs, Footloose, and At Close Range.

He did drugs in the 80's but that's the last I heard of any problems. :(

He was pretty good in Robert Altman's Short Cuts, an interesting film that adapted and connected various Raymond Carver short stories.

Certainly his character provides one hell of a surprise.

He was a self-confessed cocaine addict.

His best role was as Number_6 said, in Short Cuts. It's a not a very well known movie though outside film-buff circles.

Of course as Nice Guy Eddie in Resevoir Dogs which is how he will probably be mostly remembered.

Sad loss.

Short Cuts was an excellent film. The Lily Tomlin/Tom Waits story was chilling and incredibly sad.

And yeah, Chris Penn was excellent. Let me ask you, Menty, 6...was the implication that Penn's character killed the girl that was floating in the lake?

Oh, almost forgot...Short Cuts also features bottom nudity from a young Julianne Moore. And yeah, she's a natural redhead. ;)
