Lol. The early days of the forums really were the wild west. I can't believe the TrekBBS Admins just let this go on. We gave LizardLaugh and DEA such hell but they really were laid back. I can't believe we started a revolt against them just so Skin could make rape jokes. WTF.

I just spent a couple years posting over on GameFAQS and I can tell you that over there the admins would have banned like half the people in that thread without a second thought. But the Trekbbs mods are like, "let's have a chat about this."

Skin is only gone for one week. I am sure he will sit out his ban just fine. He will be unbanned after one week. His post was extremely offensive and innapropriate to that forum. The warning for trolling was deserved. Despite Skin's repeated posts degrading women, including the repeated slander of rape victims and Nana Visitor in particular, he still remains on this board. He may be joking, and I don't know how seriously to take him. If someone called black people 'niggers' just to be funny, they would similarly be warned. SKin has continually pushed the limits. He is still here, and will be back after his week ban is up. Some may not like him (ok ... most), but we treat him within the policy.

^ Skin suggests that TrekBBS hold an annual convention where notable members like himself can address an audience and answer questions. Entertainment will be provided, such as a booth where you can go watch Christian sitting in a chair. LOL.

^Skin (AKA, The Man From UNKLE) complains that people are flaming him for not liking Enterprise and T'Bonz isn't doing anything. And fuck me, he might be right. Those comments were brutal, lol. And T'Bonz didn't mod anyone.

What's funny is that reading these QS&F threads, 99% of all the people posting are TK members!

1) Kira: After being raped by two guys in a van, she has become soiled and is undesirable to me. After such a forced entry, as well as two children (by DIFFERENT fathers so we know what she's all about!)of her own, her birth canal must be like a garbage chute.

2) Rand: Her multiple sexual assaults and life as an alcohol and drug abuser, prostitute, and her excessive promiscuity, she has more mileage than my father's Oldsmobile. She would make a POOR role model for Skinofevil, Jr.

It's crazy that in the old days you could apparently call someone the N-word, only get a warning, and yet we started an entire website to fight this moderator "injustice." WTF. And Sardy didn't even get a warning for starting a thread about which female character you'd like to impregnate! No one even brings that up. LOL. It was the wild west, man.

I'm amazed I got away with telling T'Bonz "it's your own fault for being religious" when she said she was offended by rape jokes. Different times.

What's amazing is that Red Quacker was the first person permanently banned from TrekBBS by Christian...for the crime of being a bit annoying. As far as I can remember he didn't say anything overtly racist, and definitely didn't go in for rape jokes. I can see why TK would have been founded based on the injustice of Quacker's banning...but I don't think that was the inciting incident.
 
If I recall correctly, and it's been a quarter century so cut me some slack... but there was a more serious clampdown going on over there after the linked threads. TK was around at the time but became more popular after some of us *ahem* advocated for anarchy. The very thought of mentioning TK was banworthy for awhile, I think. But, as Para says, different times. Certainly NOTHING like the Skin/Sardy stuff would fly over there anymore, not even for 30 seconds.

I can't remember when the crackdown started. I know me and Captain Decker (I think) got permabanned by Christian in his announcement thread where he finally had enough and said he was going to purge/ban anything related to TK. But I think we were a few Briefing Room leaks into the game by that point.

If I remember right, Sardy and Skin started their own little trolling campaign and then got huffy when they started to get warned. I remember "Mandy" (who might have been Skin, I don't remember) was a big part of the early stuff. She just started taking the absolute piss out of the mods at every turn. It was impressive. But looking back, the mods seem pretty lenient. Of course, we can't go back and look at the stuff they deleted, so who knows what sparked what. But judging by the stuff left up, we kind of look like entitled little shits.

Now later on, they truly did get fucking stupid with the stuff they modded.
 
BTW, did anyone ever REALLY know the deal with Skinofevil? Just looking at that thread, it looks like Skin could have been Sardy himself. I honestly don't know if Skin or Red Quacker ever actually posted here.

I'll remain silent on this question, but I'm pretty sure I know who Skin really was. Things of the past. I would love to have a peek at executor's leaked briefing room threads though, maybe someone still has access to those?

I mean, you might as well spill the beans now. Who cares?

They never told me anything because they knew I'd expose them all. For all his talk about turning TK into a freedom of speech haven and expose Trekbbs secrets, that prick would lie and plot at every opportunity. I still don't know why he banned my original Parallaxis account when he quit. Only that he thought something in my pm inbox was going to "damage his family" and his reputation.

I mean, even when they switched off the ezboard to the dot com, they still didn't tell the original members. Which is kind of bullshit because Decker went and paid for all the ads to be removed on the ezboard backup site before we knew the dot com was coming. MM and Sardy should have at least given him his money back for that.

Thats the beauty of the wayback machine though right? Because if they were screen shot before they were deleted those threads are immortal as long as WM is a thing.
 
Heh. Time heals all wounds. For some time I could tell you the specifics of when I left TBBS, now I only remember the generalities. I got a temporary ban by one of the more officious mods for accusing someone of trolling. Ironically, not long after T'Bonz issued a temporary ban to the person I'd accused--for trolling.
 
Skin was a published cartoonist, if I recal rightly, I seem to remember seeing some stuff he'd drawn posted here or in the chatroom. If I ever knew his real name I've completely forgotten it now.

Was it not because you called him "Scott Automobile" or something like that (alluding to his real name) and he had a short film coming out which he somehow feared would be placed in jeopardy if he was linked to a troll board? Though I guess that doesn't explain why he had to ban your account as well as deleting his own.

I think his supposed "trolling" activities were just an offshoot of his inner artistic tendencies, but man, did he ever have a knack for riling people up. In the way that many have tried and failed to do for decades now.

I don't remember calling him Scott Automobile. But I don't think that was the reason. His fucking name was plastered all over everything. I looked at his Trekbbs and ezboard profiles last night and both contained his real life name and his website links. I didn't have any more information on him than he was already putting out there. I gotta be honest with you guys... I never even bothered to watch any of that Nuke Bothers stuff either.
