So I'm a member of pR0n board where people post pR0n and other stuff. Unlike 90% of the membership, who are ungrateful leechers, I always take time to say thanks to the posters for everything I find useful. So I was surprised when I got the following PM from one of the moderators:

Hee GB,

I have read some of your replies in posts, and i see that al your reaction are almost the same. "thank you for "......".
We don't like that sort of replies.
Maybe you could try something like: "This is perfect, thanks for posting, i am going to leech this one." Or something simular.

Hope you can do so.

You're right, that is close to what happened to me.

I too decided to be a swell guy and play by the rules, to thank people for their post, to offer positive contributions. I registered on a site, posted several replies, actually solved a problem about free service on a Nokia phone, etc.

Then I posted, "So what happened to the old moderators?" BAM! Next screen I saw was "BANNED: For Life. REASON: Asking too many questions"

Since then I've said fuck it, now I bleed a site dry and move on to the next one.
